Uses and the side effects of the Gefitinib 250 mg tablet

Uses- Gefitinib is a Chemotherapy medication and its Commercially received approval by FDA in 2003 for the Treatment of patients with Advanced or Metastatic Non-small cell lung cancer whose tumors have specific Mutation in the gene for the Epidermal growth factor Receptor. Gefitinib (Innovator Band- Iressa) blocks a certain type of Protein (An enzyme called Tyrosine Kinase) and interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their growth and spread in the body.

Side Effects-  Diarrhea, rash, acne, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, nail problems, hair loss, red/sore mouth or throat, Symptoms of Dehydration (Dizziness, dry mouth, fast heartbeat) or unusual weakness may occur if you are on the Treatment of Gefitinib (Geftinat 250 mg by Natco Pharma).
